Description
Standing on a parallelepiped base in grey sandstone, a set of stones form a pyramid-shaped structure supporting a broken tree-trunk whose roots sink into the stones below. A cross and an anchor are visible on the bottom left. On the main face of the plinth is a white marble slab with the names of the fallen of the Second World War. On the upper part of the monument there is a marble cartouche listing the fallen of the First World War.
Personal observations
The various symbols on the monument make it very evocative and moving.
